The MotioninJoy DS3 tool, which stands for Dual Shock 3, is used to connect PlayStation controllers to the PC, so one can use the controllers for games on the computer. An easy set-up, followed by the plugging in of the gamepad, then allows gamers to play computer games using the external controllers. The program works like an adaptor and a connecting mechanism between PlayStation controllers and Windows PC.
To be able to use the PlayStation and Xbox controllers, one needs to simply download the DS3 tool, and run the program. Then, one needs to plug in the Playstation and Xbox controllers, either through a USB connector or even via Bluetooth. Upon running the MotioninJoy DS3 program, the controller will show as an icon on the file destination you choose. The program shows a number of configuration options, to let the controllers operate in the best way. Once configured, the PSP controllers can be used to play any game on the computer.
The DS3 tool makes it very easy for gamers to play all kinds of computer games using the PlayStation controller. This means, that the classic gaming console controller can actually be used in a PC, which makes the gaming experience comprehensive. Especially for combat games or any fast-paced racing games, where the gamepad is intuitive and easy to use, this simple program lets players use the PlayStation gaming controllers to play PC games.
The main competitor to MotioninJoy DS3 tool is Better DS3. The program serves the same purpose as MotioninJoy, but does not have as many lags and erros as MotioninJoy. As the name suggests, Better DS3 driver is actually a better version of MotioninJoy, and it is easier to use, has a good interface, even though it is standard, without any interesting design elements.
The Dark Souls No-Logo Mod is a tool that removes the introduction logo shown at the start of the game. This mod is very useful for the Any% Force Quit category in which the player has to restart the game multiple times during a run in order to perform a specific glitch. The mod was created by blcd and only works for PC, on current patch.
If this sounds like just the thing for you, read on, but note that this tool is only designed for use in offline mode (with very good reason), and it's hard to tell at this point how closely FromSoftware is scrutinizing saves and user activity. You could very well get a ban if you ever go back online, no matter how well you quarantine your modified saves.
To use Marcus' tools, you'll have to download their cheat table from NexusMods, as well as CheatEngine from from it's official website. A word of caution: CheatEngine's installer is known to contain third-party adware separate from the utility itself, with even experienced users accidentally consenting to the download through a confusing EULA. Download with caution.
Again, you do this only at the risk of messing up your saves or getting banned from online play. I saw several commenters brainstorming ways to edit a save in offline mode and then bring your game back online, with some even stating that they did so successfully.
And really, that hypervigilance is for the best. The Souls games have seen some truly egregious online cheaters in the past, with ne'er do wells dropping save-corrupting hacked items (opens in new tab) being some of the worst of the lot. We also had a bit of a scare in January when the extent of Dark Souls 3's online security vulnerabilities were revealed (opens in new tab), but thankfully that issue seems to have been resolved in Elden Ring. Still, if you wish to enter the world of Elden Ring cheats in offline mode and the privacy of your own home, the left-hand path is open to you.
Better DS3 has a simpler, better interface but does all the things Motionjoy's DS3 tool does. You still have to install the drivers from MotionJoy but Better DS3 can be used offline. Once you install the drivers you can simply use Better DS3 at all times to replace the DS3tool configuration. Also, no nasty ads in Better DS3, unlike Motionjoy's solution.
There's an Offline MotioninJoy mod that lets you use the program without an internet connection and still be able to install the drivers. Sometimes you need to minimize and restore the MotioninJoy window to get the user interface to appear, but otherwise it works well enough.Once you've installed the drivers you can either keep using the offline mod or install Better DS3. I suggest the latter since Better DS3 is far more stable and user-friendly than MotioninJoy.
Offline FeatureA special feature of this application is that it can also be used "offline", i.e. without a connection to the Internet. If you are connected to the Internet while running the application, an automatic check is carried out for updates. You also need to be online to use the "e-catalog button" function.
Singleplayer-only mods tend to be the least noticeable for anti-cheat systems, so be sure to only use these Dark Souls easy mode mods in offline and disable them when going online. When it comes to making the game easier to play, there are two types of mods: "mega mules" containing upgraded characters and straightforward game-altering addons.
Modding a Dark Souls game is a different beast than, say, modding The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. The latter is able to work with the Steam Workshop, while Dark Souls requires players to go through each part of the installation on their own. There are some tools out there like Mod Managers that make it a little easier, but the most exact way to get them working is to understand the installation process and try it manually. This is not recommended for players new to modding, as the process tends to be different depending on the addons.
Available from Nexus Mods, this Mod Engine was designed to make modding Dark Souls 3 safe and supports any mod that makes file edits. With this engine, all you need to do is to make a folder, add the modded files to it and modify an .ini file so that the game recognizes the contents of the mod directory.
Indeed, while EAC is hard to bypass, professional cheat developers do it all the time. Hence while it will slow down the spread of cheats, eventually paid cheating tools which can abuse the same netcode exploits and get players banned, brick saves, crash games, etc will be available.
Special K is an extensive game modifying framework allowing for various forms of in-depth tweaking of a game. The focus is primarily on the graphics pipeline but the tool also includes features such as input device blocking/configuring, window and volume management, enhancements for some of the in-game functionality of Steam, and more. On top of this the framework includes a number of game-specific changes and optimizations that its developer have come across and fixed over the years, although minor ones are not always exposed to the user.
A local (game-specific) install refers to an install where the DLL files of Special K is locally added to the folder of the game executable and renamed accordingly to the API Special K should use to inject itself into the game, in a manner identical to that of ReShade, dgVoodoo 2, and other DLL-based mods or tools. This method allows the use of Special K for one or more games without having the global injection running, as well as using static versions of Special K that is not updated alongside the global injection. This can enhance compatibility with games where newer versions of Special K does not work as well for games as an older version of Special K might do.
Special K Injection Frontend (SKIF) is the new frontend developed along with the Steam distributed version of Special K and is used to manage the local Special K install. Features includes toggling global injection, disable individual games, or change the whitelist or blacklist for non-Steam games. As the tool is still under constant development in 2020 it often sees new features or functionality arrive monthly. As of August 2020 following the delisting of Special K on Steam the focus for the tool changed to become a cross-platform solution and is now provided through the Special K forums.
As with other third-party tools with similar system-wide injection functionality, Special K relies on so called CBT hooks in Windows to get its DLL files loaded ("injected") into processes within the same security context (the user space) that makes use of some sort of window. This injection method is necessary to inject Special K early enough within game processes to apply some of its more advance functionality, such as HDR retrofits, flip model presentation, full render modding capabilities, and more. After the DLL file have been injected into a process Special K checks what process it finds itself in to determine whether to initialize its functionality or not; either by detecting the process as having been launched through Steam or by matching an entry on the user-managed whitelist of Special K. If Special K finds itself within a non-whitelisted process, it will not initialize itself fully and instead remain idle within the process until either the process is terminated or the global injection is stopped.
Dark Souls 3 might not have garnered the same popularity totals as its two predecessors or the GOTY spin-off(s) that followed. Nevertheless, it showcases the same level of epic storytelling and mechanical depth and polish that FromSoftware is widely known for. Unfortunately, a dangerous exploit is making the rounds, leading to players losing complete control of their PCs. As of right now, the Dark Souls 3 servers are offline as the dev team works to maintain multiplayer security.
Before we start, a word of advice: Using these mods online will more than likely get you banned. If you are someone who appreciates the online system that is ingrained into Elden Ring, including Co-op play, invading, or the helpful/funny messages left all over the Lands Between, using these mods may keep you from accessing these parts of the game. The Elden Ring Mod Loader tool is the best way to keep all of your mods for the game in check. Loading mods into the game will be much easier if you have this tool at your disposal. You can also find the anti-cheat/offline loader software tool to help you as well. 2b1af7f3a8
