2. To increase the number of STEM graduates from historically underrepresented racial and ethnic minorities. In the U.S. today, STEM degrees are concentrated among white and Asian students. The U.S. Department of Education reports that in 2009, 60 percent of African-American students, 60 percent of Latino/a students, and 47 percent of Native American students matriculated to university, compared to 43 percent of white students. The TUES program will help increase the number of STEM degrees among underrepresented students.

We will meet at the Raleigh Marriott Downtown for the workshop on June 5-8, 2020. The workshop will be held at the Phoenix North Hotel . This is the location of the NC State University Food Science and Safety Conference.
